ADVOCATES PROGRAM

“If access to health care is considered a human right, who is considered human enough to have that right?”
-Paul Farmer

YOU ARE.

Our Advocates Program exists to protect your rights and advocate for you in diverse situations.
We provide:

  • Patient advocacy at appointments
  • Help with legal name change
  • Assistance with workplace transition
  • Help responding to bias & violence
  • Assistance with crisis situations
  • Medical and mental health referrals

Our Advocates will do their best help you with the situations that affect your life.
We will try to respond to requests for advocacy within 48 hours whenever possible.
Please understand that this will not always be possible, as we are a volunteer organization.
In the future, we hope to provide 24/7 On-call TGI Advocate Response Teams,
but
we are not available 24/7 at this time.

**We cannot guarantee immediate response.  If you require immediate medical or psychiatric help,
please contact 911 or your local emergency services provider, if you feel safe doing so as a TGI person.
**

For assistance from our Advocates or to apply to be a TGI Advocate: advocates@lifelinesri.org or 401.369.9680.
